I have lived in the Antelope Valley for almost a year now, and I have yet to locate a hamburger joint that can come anywhere close to my favorite hambuger spot of all time: The Athenian Grill in Reseda, CA.
I have searched high and low in this desert community only to be disappointed time and again. In my search I have found eatery's that have other fare I would be happy to rave about (Jimmy's on Sierra Ave @ Ave K for the Best Philly Cheesesteak), but I digress...
The wife and I took a drive into the San Fernando Valley tonight and stopped at Athenian's for some dinner. I ordered my regular Double Cheeseburger with bacon and avocado. Two 1/4 lb beef patties, 2 slices of american cheese, shredded lettuce, a thick slice of juicy tomato, some mayo dressing topped with a pile of bacon, and another pile of fresh sliced avocado wedges!!! /Drool
Okay, now maybe you are all hungry after reading this, and unless you hit this one burgermeister greek themed eatery, you will nevah (nevah I say) know the joy of sinking your teeth into a burger that is almost too tall to shove into my face hole.
Next time you are anywhere near Reseda, California, stop by The Athenian Grill on Reseda Blvd, just South of Sherman Way. You will not be disappointed. And if you ever try to compare Chili's or some other chain to The Athenian Grill, you will understand why they are not even in the same category.
